Process Steps to achieve production with a Low Impact To the Environment Through the use of alternative sources of energy, water recycling, heat recycling and process reengineering ISA TanTec has been able to achieve 30% reduction on conventional electricity usage, 50% less water is consumed and total CO2 emissions are down 35%. Solar Panels Installed in August 2007, our solar panel is currently generating an average of up to 15,000 liters per day of 60C hot water. This clean alternative source of energy is providing hot water used on the retanning process creating a big impact on the reduction of total CO2 emmited during the leather manufacturing process. Latest technology in drying systems Low temperature drying equipment ensures less energy consumption for heat creation. Less energy = less CO2 The water used in the cooling system is recycled as warm water and the water condensed from the leather during the drying procedure is recycled for cleaning. The manufacturing plant uses only energy saving light sources. |
